Complete Off-Grid RV Power Systems

Design backward from what you want the RV to do.

For larger projects, Utah RV Power starts with the appliances you want to run, expected runtime, camping style, and available charging opportunities. Solar, battery storage, inverter capacity, wiring, protection, and charging are then designed to work together.

Every RV and installation is different. Final equipment selection, scope, and pricing depend on the RV, existing electrical system, component compatibility, access, cable routing, roof layout, and the goals for the finished system.

System design

A complete system balances four things

Loads

We identify the loads that matter, their approximate power demand, and how often you expect to use them.

Storage

Battery capacity determines how much energy can be carried between charging opportunities.

Conversion

The inverter must support the intended AC loads while the DC side safely supports the current it requires.

Recharging

Solar and other compatible charging sources determine how quickly energy can be put back into the battery bank.

Typical projects

Installation, upgrades, and system integration

  • Custom solar array design
  • LiFePO4 battery banks
  • Pure sine inverter or inverter/charger systems
  • Charging and distribution upgrades
  • Protection, disconnects, cabling, labeling and commissioning

Built for real camping goals

A weekend system for lights, electronics and a refrigerator can look very different from a system intended to operate an air conditioner, microwave and other large loads. Custom design avoids paying for capacity you do not need—or building a system that cannot meet the goal.

Start with the goal

Tell us what you want to power.

Share your RV type, current equipment, how you camp, and the loads you want to operate. We can use that information to determine a practical starting point.
