Battery capacity
Capacity is selected around desired runtime and real loads rather than simply matching the old lead-acid amp-hour rating.
Utah RV power services
More usable battery capacity is only part of a successful lithium conversion.
A lithium upgrade should work with the entire charging and electrical system. Utah RV Power evaluates battery capacity, current demand, charging sources, protection, cable sizing, and equipment compatibility together.
Every RV and installation is different. Final equipment selection, scope, and pricing depend on the RV, existing electrical system, component compatibility, battery location, access, cable routing, and the goals for the finished system.
System design
Capacity is selected around desired runtime and real loads rather than simply matching the old lead-acid amp-hour rating.
Converter/chargers, solar controllers and other charging sources need settings or equipment compatible with the battery manufacturer’s requirements.
Large inverters can draw substantial DC current, making BMS capability, conductor sizing, connections and overcurrent protection critical.
Lithium charging limitations in low temperatures need to be considered based on the battery design and how the RV is used.
Typical projects
A lithium battery is not always a drop-in replacement for the complete system. We check the equipment that charges and uses the battery bank so the upgrade is designed as a system rather than a battery swap.
