RV Solar Installation
New rooftop solar, panel additions, charge-controller upgrades, wiring, and solar-ready RV completion.
RV solar • lithium • off-grid power
From simple solar charging to complete lithium and inverter systems capable of running major appliances and air conditioning, Utah RV Power designs each system around how you actually use your RV.
RV power services
Start small, upgrade an existing system, or build a complete off-grid electrical package from the battery bank forward.
New rooftop solar, panel additions, charge-controller upgrades, wiring, and solar-ready RV completion.
LiFePO₄ conversions, larger battery banks, cable upgrades, battery protection, and charging-system compatibility.
Pure-sine inverter systems designed around the loads you want to operate—from outlets and microwaves to air conditioning.
Integrated solar, batteries, charging, inverter power, monitoring, and distribution for extended camping without hookups.
Evaluate existing installations, improve weak links, expand capacity, and correct charging or performance problems.
Tell us what you want to run and for how long. We can size the system around realistic loads, runtime, and recharge needs.
Designed from the load backward
A reliable system has to balance battery capacity, inverter demand, solar recovery, charging sources, cable sizing, protection, and the equipment you actually want to use.
Rather than starting with a prepackaged kit, Utah RV Power starts with your goals: how long you camp, whether you use hookups, what appliances matter, whether you want to run A/C, and how quickly the system needs to recharge.
That gives us a practical design target instead of simply adding more panels and hoping the rest of the system keeps up.
Battery-bank capacity is sized around usable watt-hours, expected loads, discharge limits, and the amount of reserve you want.
Inverter capacity, surge demand, BMS capability, DC cabling, and protection all have to work together when operating high-draw appliances.
Solar, shore power, generator charging, and available alternator/DC-DC charging can be combined around how and where you travel.
How it works
You do not need to know which controller, battery, inverter, or cable size you need before contacting us.
Share the year, make, model, current electrical equipment, where you camp, and what you want to power.
We look at the appliances that matter to you, expected runtime, peak demand, and how much reserve makes sense.
Solar, batteries, inverter power, charging, conductors, protection, monitoring, and expansion are planned together.
The finished system is commissioned and tested, and you receive a practical explanation of how to use and monitor it.
Off-grid trailer system
Featured system
This trailer system was designed and built to support normal RV electrical use from battery power, including microwave and air-conditioning operation within the system's limits.
The purpose of a project like this is not simply to install the biggest components that will fit. Battery discharge capability, inverter demand, wire size, fusing, solar recovery, charging speed, and real-world runtime all need to work together.
Build a system around your RV →Hands-on experience
RV solar sits at the intersection of several things owner Glenn Pearson has spent more than two decades doing: RV and trailer systems, 12V electrical, fabrication, mechanical work, construction, troubleshooting, and technology.
Glenn and his wife spent six years managing and renting travel trailers while he handled their maintenance, repairs, modifications, electrical work, solar upgrades, fabrication, and major projects. He later worked professionally in the RV industry and has also worked building, wiring, repairing, and modifying utility trailers.
His solar experience ranges from simple battery-maintenance systems to complete off-grid RV builds, along with hands-on residential solar installation experience. That broad technical background helps Utah RV Power design the whole system, troubleshoot problems methodically, and explain the choices in practical terms.

System size can vary dramatically depending on the RV, appliances, camping style, available roof space, and how quickly you need to recharge.
View all FAQs →Yes, when the battery bank, BMS, inverter, cabling, protection, and charging system are all designed for the load. Runtime depends on the specific A/C, weather, battery capacity, and other loads.
Solar is sized around how much energy you use and how quickly you need to replace it. Available roof area, shading, battery capacity, season, and travel style all affect the answer.
Often, yes. Existing panels, wiring, controller limits, battery type, and charging equipment should be evaluated before deciding what can be reused.
No. In many cases it is better to start with the appliances you want to run, how long you camp off-grid, and your current setup before selecting hardware.
